I retired from college teaching after 30 years of academic life. I was professor of biology and chair of Science and Mathematics at The College of Santa Fe in Santa Fe, New Mexico, from 1984 until 2009 when the College closed (tinyurl.com/t4ca3rf4.) I also taught at Northern New Mexico College and Santa Fe Community College.
My background includes degrees from The Colorado College (B.A. in Biology), University of Wyoming (M.S. in Zoology and Physiology), and The University of Colorado-Boulder (Ph.D. in Ecology.) My C.V. is here.
Although most of my field and lab research focused on ecological topics my teaching ranged from ecology, human anatomy and physiology, and environmental studies to interdisciplinary/multi-faculty courses that combined science, art, and literature.
My current project is a botanical biography of Brother Arsène Brouard--a Christian Brother who is little-known but who made major contributions to the understanding of plant diversity in Mexico and New Mexico in the early 20th Century.
